Shoshin Aikido School was the host of the first Irish Martial Arts Commission Aikido clubs friendship weekend where six instructors from different Aikido clubs and styles shared the essence of their styles to a mix of students from each school giving the opportunity to see a different part of Aikido and how its taught. Over the weekend we had instructors from Dublin Tomiki Aikido, Takemusu Aikido Society, Aikido Wexford, North East Aikido, Muden Juku Ireland and Shoshin Aikido School.

We all had a great time with Linda when she brought her light and powerful Aikido to our club. A couple of hours of chats, instruction and questions along with great answers from Linda both about Aikido and her journey from starting in Aikido in collage through to her time in Japan

We are delighted to welcome our first guest instructor, Linda Holiday Sensei, to our new Dojo for an evening of training under her guidance. Linda has a huge wealth of understanding in Aikido and currently holds a 7th Dan awarded by Moriteru Ueshiba, Aikido Doshu, the grandson of Aikido’s founder.
Aikido focuses on balancing your mind and body to help develop a healthy and responsive attitude to the everyday issues life brings our way as well as maintaining a positive attitude to self defence & all the benefits regular exercise brings.
